WaterSafety360: Legionellosis Risk Assessment by Disinfection Specialists

WaterSafety360 was developed as a water safety management plan for the prevention of Legionellosis risk. It is based on a holistic and proactive approach that involves identifying the most suitable preventive and corrective measures according to the specific risk level of the structure under review.

Inspired by the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Study Group for Legionella Infections (ESGLI), and national guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, WaterSafety360 involves the drafting and application of a risk assessment document specific to the structure of interest. This document serves as the starting point for proper Legionellosis risk management.

Given that Legionella is classified as a class 2 microorganism, the implementation of appropriate risk management measures is required under Legislative Decree 81/2008.

Thus, WaterSafety360 evolves: by applying the guidelines provided by ISTISAN Report 22/32, Sanipur has developed it into a comprehensive consulting tool for drafting and implementing water safety plans as mandated by the decree on water for human use. This applies to any type of structure, tailored to specific needs and regulatory requirements.

How does it work?

The WaterSafety360 service is divided into three main stages, during which Sanipur constantly supports its clients to ensure full control over water safety:

Risk Analysis and Assessment
Through a technical inspection and targeted interviews with the involved professionals, Sanipur experts analyse the characteristics of the structure and its water systems, identify critical points, and outline measures for proper risk management. A summary document is then drafted and periodically updated.

Once the risk level of the structure is identified, the most suitable measures for proper management are implemented, and a control plan is defined to verify their effectiveness.

With the intervention and support of Sanipur’s qualified technicians and professionals, the best practices formalised in the assessment document are put into action.
